Help us buy a new ambulance for the student rescue squad at Virginia Tech!

in memory of the tragedy in April 2007

This student run rescue squad responds to all on campus emergency medical calls. They were first on the scene for the April 16, 2007 tragedy providing treatment and transportation for more than 50 students and faculty. In 2007, 804 times they responded to medical emergencies. While many are routine, over 150 calls received advance life support treatment.

How can you help? General Federation of Women’s Clubs Virginia is raising $172,000 to buy a new, fully-equipped Traumahawk Advanced Life Support Ambulance for the VT Rescue Squad. This vehicle will replace a well-used 1998 model. GFWC Virginia is honoring the VT Rescue Squad and providing a lasting memorial with this ambulance.

Pledge your hours to Virginia Tech

The Mission of VT Engage is "to encourage everyone everywhere to do volunteer work as a way to give back to the community." The University's students, faculty, and staff are asked to perform 10 hours of community in this spring's semester, to help meet the University's goal of 300,000 hours by the end of the semester. Alumni have promised to match this goal.

We can help by pledging our club volunteer hours to this program.
